The Smart Grinder Pro

A standalone grinder that covers espresso through French press.

The Smart Grinder Pro is the companion piece to Breville's Bambino and anyone pulling espresso on a machine without a built-in grinder. It's also capable enough to handle pour-over, AeroPress, drip, and French press without feeling like it's been stretched.

Sixty grind settings give the machine meaningful range. Stepped adjustment through a front dial handles the coarse moves. Dosing iQ digital time adjustment tunes grind time in 0.2-second increments, which is the kind of precision espresso shots actually ask for.

Stainless steel conical burrs sit under a stainless housing. An LCD displays grind setting, grind time, and the number of shots or cups selected. The machine remembers what you did last time and brings it up on startup.

Portafilter cradles ship for both 50 to 54mm and 58mm sizes, which is Breville's way of saying this grinder doesn't care which machine it lives next to. Grind directly into the portafilter, into the included airtight container, or into a paper or gold tone filter basket.

How it works

Set the grind. Set the time. Let it run.

Choose a grind setting on the front dial. Fine for espresso, medium for drip, coarse for French press. The stepped adjustment makes the broad choice.

Set grind time in 0.2-second increments using Dosing iQ. For espresso, time controls weight. Dial in a shot and let the grinder hold that setting across sessions.

Drop a portafilter into the cradle, or position a container, filter, or paper basket. The grinder doses directly into whatever you've placed.
