Breville the Bambino™

The Bambino is the entry point into Breville's line and, arguably, the entry point into real home espresso. It's small, it's uncomplicated, and it pulls a shot that holds up against machines much larger than itself.

A ThermoJet heating system reaches extraction temperature in three seconds, so the machine is usable almost immediately. Breville reports up to 32% less energy annually compared to a Thermoblock, which also means the kitchen isn't warming up every time the machine sits idle.

The Bambino has no built-in grinder. That's intentional. The machine is designed to pair with a dedicated grinder of your choice, which is how most serious home setups eventually end up anyway. For anyone starting to build an espresso station piece by piece, the Bambino is the machine end of that workflow.

A 54mm stainless steel portafilter takes an 18g dose, with single and dual wall baskets for 1 and 2 cup shots. A 15 bar Italian pump drives extraction at 9 bar, with low-pressure pre-infusion to wet the puck first.

The steam wand is manual and built for microfoam. There's no automatic milk system here, and that's by design. If you're going to pull real espresso at home, you may as well learn the jug. The Bambino gives you a wand strong enough to reward the practice.
